Job Title: Supply Chain Planner Department: Supply Chain

Reporting to:UK Supply Chain Manager

ROLE PURPOSE:
To be responsible for inventory levels ensuring continued availability of parts to the production areas whilst achieving financial inventory targets. Taking full accountability for own supplier portfolio. Working alongside all other departments to support the introduction of new products and managing slow moving / obsolete stock. Full utilisation of current MRP system to ensure timely issue of PO's and production plans to suppliers, and subsequent management of these suppliers to ensure adherence to these plans. Processing of PO's consumable items as and when required.

ROLE PROFILE:
The ideal candidate needs to be an energetic, diligent and of analytical character & needs to be self-motivated, attentive to detail and have an obsession with seeing things through to a satisfactory conclusion. He/she needs to be comfortable working under pressure, and be hungry to bring change/improvement and best in class material control processes. Flexibility is key as this role will bring daily challenges where priorities can change at short notice. Experience with material supply from China would be a distinct advantage. Ideal candidate would also have experience using AX as a MRP System and able to analyse data as and when required.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES


•Creation/Issuing of Supplier Schedules / Shipment Plans / Purchase Orders
•Raising of PO's in line with business needs
•Develop stock control measures to ensure internal customers are receiving correct levels of service.
•Supplier monitoring to ensure full material availability, whilst maintaining correct stock levels in line with business needs.
•Support introduction of all new products whilst managing run out stock levels to avoid obsolescence.
•Responsible for organising inbound freight, and dealing with all issues as and when they arise.
•Scheduling and planning for US plant
•Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers (both UK & overseas - and particularly China)
•Create best-in-class inventory / stock control / scheduling processes
•Introduction of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
•Basic MRP, back-flushing techniques and shortage elimination.
