I am currently recruiting for a tier 1 supplier into the automotive industry are currently looking to recruit for a Toolroom Supervisor to join and lead their in-house tool room.
Suitable for: Tool Room Supervisor, Toolmaker, Tool Maker, Tooling Engineer
Hours - Mon - Thursday 8am - 5pm
Friday 8am - 1pm
A position has become available for an experienced Toolroom Supervisor to undertake tool room activities for our client who are a renowned manufacturer of pressed components to the automotive industry.
Day to Day duties will include the following:
-Manage, coach and develop a high performing tool room team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
-Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of Production
-Supervise/Manage the running and plan activities of the tool room facilities and toolmakers, ensuring the tool room is a safe environment in line with health, safety and environmental requirements
-check dimensions with precision measuring instruments like micrometers and gauges
-assemble, fit and repair tools
-using 2D and 3D computer aided design and manufacturing software (CAD/CAM)
-monitor the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or possible improvements
-Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice tool room vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
-Assist in tooling buyoffs and trials
The successful candidate for the position of Tool maker will have the following experience:
-Strong toolmaking background in a power press manufacturing environment (Essential)
-Experience on multistage, single stage and draw tooling (Essential)
-Possess knowledge of working with steel, brass and aluminium (Essential)
-Competent in the operation of lathes, millers, grinders, presses, CNC Machines, spark wire eroders etc (Essential)
-Ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometes, verniers etc (Essential)
