We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer / CI Leader on behalf of a well-established manufacturer based in Redditch. Our client is a world leader in their filed.
Reporting to the General Manager. You will develop and maintain systems and procedures for effective management of Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety across the site. The role will also act as the Lead Engineer for Continuous Improvement activities including developing lean manufacturing processes and process monitoring relating to raw material production.
Day to day duties will include the following:
_Represent site during external audits to identify and improve areas of weakness with the company's systems & procedures identified as a result of these audits.
_Provide management with regular information on customer complaints, returns and the cost of quality including internal and external using appropriate measures.
_Liaise with internal customers and external customers on quality standards and issues.
_Ensure to maintain the ISO system on site.
_Develop and maintain lean manufacturing processes.
_Work closely with the Production Team to establish and improve manufacturing processes, leading and driving continuous improvement in these areas.
_Monitor performance in operations according to agreed measures and take necessary action to advise and assist operations management achieve budgeted performance.
_Oversee the organisations environmental, health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations.
_Investigate any H&S concerns including accidents, incidents and near misses to determine root cause and contributing factors.
_Establish, implement and maintain communication for the improvement and awareness of quality and EHS issues across all departments.
_To be committed to and champion a strong EHS culture on site.
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
_A Degree or higher in a relevant Engineering or Manufacturing discipline or equivalent (Advantageous)
_Experience in a Quality or EHS Engineering role within a manufacturing environment (Essential)
_A Yellow/Green Belt qualification in Lean Manufacturing Techniques (Advantageous)
_NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety/Environmental Management (Advantageous)
_Capable of using CMM (Essential)
_Hands on experience in a high intensity manufacturing environment (Essential)
_Experience of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO18001 systems (Advantageous)
_Experience in project delivery and problem solving (Advantageous)
_Previous experience in a Customer facing role (Advantageous)
_Experience in a Continuous Improvement role within a manufacturing environment (Advantageous)
