Key part of the supply chain function where you will assist in day to day purchasing activity managing this through the MRP systems and having direct liaison with technical engineering / manufacturing teams and external suppliers to expedite orders and ensure agreed supplier service KPI's. Assist with minimizing costs of purchased goods, screen suppliers for quality and track orders from initiation to usage, bringing new ideas to business or innovative ways of approaching old problems.

REPORTS TO: Strategic Sourcing Manager

Procure a range of materials, components and services.
- Supplier monitoring and development.
- Inventory and stock control.
- Invoice reconciliation.
- Cost control and reduction.

Use computer systems to ensure efficient stock procurement, in line with business requirements whilst ensuring material shortages do not impact productivity advising on lead times to relevant departments

Produce management information as requested by the line manager

Develop and maintain proactive supplier relationships

Progress chase orders to ensure timely deliveries and liaise with other departments to ensure that product supplies are affecting manufacture, the use of tracking orders and expediting parts etc.

Placing orders against MRP recommendations & Non Production requisitions

Review acknowledgements

Generate and send order reports

Generate performance reports / KPI's

Assist Buyers with enquiries / sourcing products

Maintain system files to ensure knowledge sharing is obtained

Liaise with Stores / Goods Inwards to manage Third Party Vendor stock movements

Review Safety Stock and adjust levels when necessary

Adhoc duties as required within purchasing.

Experience of sourcing supply of manufacturing goods and all types of materials, steel products, steel plates, tubes, fittings, flanges etc, including all types of consumables used in welding and general shop floor requirements.E

A position has become available for an experienced process / lean engineer for our client who are a manufacturer of medical products.

Day to Day duties will include the following:

* Development of new and current manufacturing processes, improving efficiencies (Essential)
* Reduction/Elimination of all waste forms through the use of lean tools and techniques (Essential)
* To lead/participate in project teams responsible for all activities dealing with process validation of production equipment (Essential)
* To seek and source new technologies and /or processes to support the continuous improvement strategy of the plant (Essential)
* To be a validation practitioner for the plant on new and existing process (Essential)
* Fully document trials / validations in accordance with internal business procedures (Essential)
* Creation of project plans to determine improvement activities and quantify the savings gained (Essential)

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:

* Proven track record in process engineering - proven experience in project management (Essential)
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing process and tools (Essential)
* Knowledge of medical device industry (FDA, ISO 13845) (Advantageous)
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Essential)
* Ability to travel (Essential)
* Good problem analysis ability - a positive and lateral thinker (Essential)
