The CNC Setter Programmer is responsible for producing high quality parts using a variety of different machines, tools and materials. They are also responsible for maintaining the machines and keeping accurate records of production data.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Will be using a variety of CNC Lathe machines (mainly Goratu Gemini) and lathes to produce high quality parts
• Working to strict Quality Procedures / Quality Systems
• Will understand and be able to follow drawings, specifications, and complex instructions/dimensions
• Consistently produce high quality parts, dimensionally and cosmetically, liaising with the Quality Inspectors at all times
• Using measurement equipment

• Perform maintenance and daily checks/calibration on machines and equipment
• Will be expected to use own initiative to solve problems and trouble-shoot when they arise

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards. Main purpose of job

Working with the Forge Shop Manager you will be responsible for controlling and monitoring all activities of the shift. These activities include motivating the members of the team to deliver all production output on time to acceptable quality levels, maintaining and improving health and safety standards, managing materials & resources to ensure maximum efficiency, implementing a training matrix to improve skills & improve standards, and work with engineering and operational colleagues to improve procedures, documentation and processes within the cell.

Day to day duties will include the following:

• Ensures on time delivery of quality product in line with customer requirements by ensuring staff follows daily production schedule
• Develops a running Capacity Plan with Production Director, Production Planner & other Shift Supervisors to meet output and resource requirements. Identifying deviations in the plan and implementing corrective actions to meet customer demand.
• Develop, coordinate and monitor training programs within the cell to make sure all members of the team meet training levels according to Company needs. This includes but not limited to production processes, documentation, Health & Safety, Company policies (HR and legal requirements)
• Monitor efficiencies in the production line to identify bottle necks in the process and then liaise with other stake holders to implement corrective actions.
• Develop & improve documentation and manufacturing instructions with engineering departments to improve skills, processes and ultimately yield.
• Make sure relevant HR procedures are followed within the cell.
• Manage Health & Safety, security and emergency system, promoting staff and stake holder awareness according to Company policy and relevant law.


As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
1.Production

• Monitor and review production progress against delivery dates to ensure on time in full target of 95% within the cell(s).
• Work with Production Planner and other Cell Leaders to adjust the production schedule as required, communicating any deviation that could impact the quality or delivery date to the Customer.
• Monitor and review manufacturing operations to ensure correct quality standard.
• Work with Design and Quality to update and maintain Cell documentation including accurate Work Instructions.
• Monitor and control inventory within the cell(s) to keep WIP low and make sure operations run efficient
• Liaise with Production Director and Production Engineers to resolve quality issues in production and achieve On Time in Full (OTIF).
• Monitor efficiencies in the production line to identify weaknesses in the processes to then implement improvements to comply with Company quality standards.

2.Staff Training and Development

• Undertake training and develop staff in the cell.
• Identify individual training needs, implement, monitor and review training and development plans with the team members of the cell.
• Manage training matrix and records of individuals within the cell.
• Conduct and record annual performance appraisals.

3.Human Resources

• Monitor time and attendance of the cell, including return to work interviews and application of absence management procedures.
• Monitor, review and address personnel under performance, liaising with HR maintaining appropriate records in accordance with company procedures
• Address any staff discipline or grievance issue, maintaining appropriate records in accordance with company procedure.
• Hold regular start of shift briefings to keep employees informed of targets, expectations and issues.
