JOB PURPOSE:
To work within the Safran Aircraft Systems Cell and produce precision machined components to customer and quality specified tolerances using best practise modern methods. To contribute to the team and help to develop and maintain best practices.

DAY TO DAY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
• Working within the SAE manufacturing Cell
• Working as a team to maximise machine utilisation
• Working to structured manufacturing plan
• Responsible for setting and operating of 5 Axis Turn Mill machines
• Responsible for quality output
• Responsible for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM)
• Capable of using measuring equipment such as Micrometers Vernier caliper's height towers shadow graphs CMM etc
• To perform other such duties as generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of responsibility.

• To set and operate machines in line with production plans
• To meet section targets for Productivity and Quality
• To work as a team player to support the SAE Cell achieve required output

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:
Apprentice trained - Preferred or Demonstrated relevant experience

Working with SOP's and Company specific documentation

•Set CNC turning lathes with Mazatrol systems to British Aerospace, Rolls Royce and Formula 1 specifications.
•Carrying out inspection of components using various types of micrometers, verniers digital measuring equipment, including use of co-ordinated measuring machine.
•Being responsible for inspecting own work and maintaining a clean working environment.

Main purpose of job:
Working with the Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for setting/operating CNC machines to help achieve daily production output, working to strict safety and quality standards and optimizing machine efficiency and maintaining operational excellence.

Day to day duties will include the following:
•Setting and operating CNC machines with Fanuc control
•Set and operate machines with full authority, including 1st Offs and machine programme setting adjustments
•Follow Job Sheets issued by Planning or Shift Supervisor ensuring the machines are operating in a way which maximizes output whilst maintaining quality and safety standards.
•Make minor changes to CNC program, machine Spindle Speed and Tool Feed settings
•Check the CNC programme, tooling and job sheets match and the correct revision of the drawing is being used.
•Check parts are to correct tolerances to meet standards and specifications
•Using the correct set-up and CMM programme, ensure a 1st off is performed on all jobs using the CMM machine.
•Perform routine cleaning and lubrication of machines as required and defined by the TPM plan
•Follow 5S routines ensuring they are completed for the next shift

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
•Understanding of 5S
•Ability to work across multiple machines
•Previous manufacturing experience
•Experience of working and delivering production targets
