Workforce are recruiting for an experienced Surface Grinder.

General Responsibilities/Requirements:

• Work from detailed drawings, process sheets, tooling instructions, and standard charts to identify component/manufacturing specifications.
• Compute such data as dimensions, rotation speeds, feed rates, and machining times.
• Uses experience to determine the best practice machining methods for each part.
• Use dial indicators, micrometers, and other standard and special precision inspection equipment to set up, adjust and check dimensions.
• Enters data into ERP system.
• Work with supervisor & support teams to resolve problem situations as required.
• Performed work with a variety of grinding wheel specifications. Must have experience working with overhead dressers.
• May be required to operate multiple machines.
• May be required to operate multiple machines.
• Rotate between various department work centers as required.
• Use hand tools and manual machines as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality and safety regulations.

Qualifications or Functional Experience:

• Requires a minimum of 3 years trades training or equivalent experience and two to four years of related machining experience.
• Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percent.
• Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency in operating precision grinding machines.
• Requires a knowledge of grinding principles, tooling, material characteristics, machine shop procedures, abrasives and general machining practices.
• Must have extensive knowledge of Surface Grinding processes
• Requires the ability to read specifications and gauges and to complete standard production documentation
• Able to work with IT systems and possess a good level of PC literacy.

Hours:         Full time 8 am - 4:30 pm / 1 pm Finish Friday 

On behalf of our well-established precision CNC Turning and CNC Milling engineering client. We are looking for highly experienced CNC Miller & CNC Turner. 

Day to day duties will include the following:

•    CNC prototype and small to medium batch
•    Operating CNC XYZ lathes
•    Operating 3 & 4 axis CNC Haas milling machines
•    Grinding experience, a BONUS

Experience:

•    Experienced in machining prototypes 
•    Tool setting, CNC operating and setting up machines
