Workforce are recruiting for an experienced steel logistics supervisor / manager for an established steel processing company in Walsall Wood. This is a full time permanent vacancy with an excellent opportunity to work for a growing SME.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Duties to include.
Responsibility for 3 drivers and 6 warehouse people inclusive of work scheduling.
Arranging loads and routes for 4 company vehicles inclusive of daily checks/
MOT, Servicing and safety checks on all company Lorries and cars.
Stock checks annually and perpetual prepared for and maintained according to the schedule.
Responsibility to maintain daily checks of company storage racking and to include repair to compliance level.
Responsibility and close working relationship with yard and stores supervisors to maintain work throughput.
Maintaining the tracking devices within the company vehicles.
A check system that controls the amount of work achieved by each person under the supervision of the L + D supervisor/Manager and forms part of the ongoing improvement programme.
To control and maintain all training records for all drivers and warehouse operatives under the supervision of the L + D supervisor/Manager and this is a mandatory requirement.
Ensuring that all operatives under the supervision of the L + D supervisor/Manager comply and maintain the requirements of our ISO9001 qualification.
The daily/weekly checks of all measuring equipment is to be controlled and maintained by the L + D supervisor/manager, including the records of these checks.
Health and Safety qualifications in line with IOSH are deemed a requirement for this role as a driven determination to meet our legal Health and Safety requirements for our personnel within in the workplace.
A driving licence for occasional use of company cars use is essential.
A HGV licence of any level would be an advantage.
A valid licence to drive a counterbalance fork truck is essential and any other type of fork truck licence would be an advantage but full training and in-house licence could be provided.
A good understanding of operating a computer stock system is seen as essential and full training would be provided.
A valid first aid and fire qualification would be an advantage, or training would be provided as these qualifications are deemed necessary for this role.
The position is for a responsible person to be our contact with the Operator's licence provider.
Working hours 8.30am to the time the vehicles have been loaded and flexibility is expected by you and provided by the business.
Monday to Friday.
Supervision on a Saturday morning is on a rota basis with other supervisors.
