Day to day duties will include the following:
• Utilising conventional processes, surface grinding and OPG with expectations to produce +/-0.001mm tolerances for parallel surfaces, surface finish, flatness, cylindricity, squareness, grinding to suit etc. (Essential)
• Potential to train in CNC machining centre or wire EDM process, to machine new press tools, repairs and maintenance to close tolerances, pre determined standard times and estimates (Essential)
• To work with technical drawings and technical documentation, whilst also feeding back improvements to the design team (Essential)
• Use problem solving techniques to analyse and improve machining problems (Essential)
• Mentoring of trainees and apprentices (Essential)
• Promoting and striving to improve 5s standards (Essential)
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
• To have precision grinding experience (Essential)
• Surface grinding, OPG, UNI Taper, Forms, profile, spherical, eccentric, ECT knowledge and expertise (Essential)
• Working to very tight tolerances (Essential)
• Soft machining experience turning, milling, grinding etc (Essential)
• Experience of machining different materials (Essential)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings (Essential)
• Able to work on own initiative (Essential)
