A well-established global leading specialist in design & manufacturer of precision pressings are looking to recruit for a Quality Engineer to support their in-house quality function. You will spearhead quality excellence and take full ownership of the internal quality standards.

Salary: 30,000 - 32,000 p.a. + benefits


The Role

The Quality Engineer will be required to report to the Quality Manager in handling the day to day duties as required. The successful candidate will also be required to possess a general knowledge of environmental and health & safety

Responsibilities will include:

Reviewing quality issues with shift Quality Controller and Production staff, conduct product process audits on parts and submitting quality reports.
Attending weekly quality improvement meetings whilst presenting continuous improvement recommendations.
Conducting PPAP, control plans, gauge studies, process flows diagram & process capability studies for new and existing parts.
Reviewing and amending failure mode & effects analysis (FMEA) and support the project team with all new business.
Formulating action plans to investigate and analyse customer returns to ensure customer satisfaction and prevent future failures.
Raising internal 8D's as appropriate.


The successful candidate for the Quality Engineers position will have the following:

2 - 3 years Quality Engineering experience - ESSENTIAL
Knowledge of working with IATF/16949 or TS16949, PPAP's, FMEA's, control plans, auditing and implementing corrective and preventative actions - ESSENTIAL
Using hand held measuring equipment - ESSENTIAL
Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word

* Overhead Crane licence would be an advantage

• Working within the SAE manufacturing Cell
• Working as a team to maximise machine utilisation
• Working to structured manufacturing plan
• Responsible for setting and operating of 5 Axis Turn Mill machines
• Responsible for quality output
• Responsible for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM)
• Capable of using measuring equipment such as Micrometers Vernier caliper's height towers shadow graphs CMM etc
• To perform other such duties as generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of responsibility.

KEY SUCCESS CRITERIA:
• To set and operate machines in line with production plans
• To meet section targets for Productivity and Quality
• To work as a team player to support the SAE Cell achieve required output

I am recruiting for a client who are a global leading supplier of manufacturer of turned parts for a variety of different market sectors. They are currently looking to recruit for a Multi Spindle Setter, As the Multi Spindle Setter you will be responsible for change over tooling and attachments.

Day to day duties will include the following:
•Ensuring the smooth operation of Wickman Multi Spindle Lathes.
•To change over a range of Wickman Multi Spindle machines working with the aid of layouts.
•Changing collets, feeders, steady bushes, feed gears and altering strokes both cross slide & aux/main turret.
•Setting a range of attachments including tapping, longitudinal, recessing and thread milling.
•Setting to include knurling, roll marking, Tre-pan & Standard cross slide tooling. Be able to conduct first off quality inspection.

FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
_At least 3 years' experience setting Multi Spindle machines - Essential
_Experience working on Wickman machines - Desirable
_A general knowledge of tooling requirements, speeds, feeds etc - Essential

This is a long term temporary position, but permanent roles can become available to the right candidate.
It is important to have practical welding experience with mild steel and an advantage to have worked with posts, beams, frames and other aspects of structural or architectural metalwork.
About the Candidate
Experience in MIG Welding
Be competent in basic Metal cutting / shaping as per work order, amongst other fabrications
Be able to set up and operate welding equipment independently
Able to read and work from Engineering Drawings
Set up and operate machinery associated with fabrication/welding.
A good understanding of health & safety procedures in a workshop environment.
Willing to work overtime when required.
