Telecoms CAD Technician

How big is this team - The telecoms team has an overall telecoms manager, Design project co-ordinator, Survey co-ordinator, 5 CAD Technicians, Structural design engineer, Electrical design engineer and admin support
What is a typical project - Typical projects will involve producing Planning general arrangement drawings for proposed mobile telecoms installations and also produce detailed design drawings which will involve producing detailed equipment and electrical schematics as well completing steelwork, concrete and general civil / structural engineering elements within the drawings. Deadlines are extremely tight in telecoms so a clear understanding of the work being undertaken and expected due dates are imperative
What does a typical day look like - The CAD techs work to a weekly programme of sites which will be on a variety of different client projects. A briefing meeting is held daily with the telecoms manager and also interm support meetings throughout the day to ensure client timescales are met
Is there a salary range in mind - Min 2-3 years woking on Autocad expected and a knowledge of detailing essential. Preferable if has experience in the telecoms industry.
Typical salary circa 25k but would be reviewed dependant on experience and suitability
Graduate structural engineer

How big is this team - The Design team consists of the Design Team Manager, Structural Engineer and 3 Designer Detailers with Admin support.
What is a typical project - A typical project is the design of a remedial piling system to be installed to provide additional support to a structure that has suffered movement. The role is extremely varied though and we can be called upon to work on anything covered by Home Insurance (Fire Damaged buildings, flood damaged buildings, Subsidence, failed retaining walls etc.). If it is a project that we are building, then there may be some site visits and communication with the installation teams.
What does a typical day look like - A set list of projects would be assigned by the Design Team Manager. The Designer would be responsible for reviewing the brief from the client and the information provided. Using this information they will need to determine the best cause of action which may include; calculate the loads of the structure at foundation level and provide a scheme and quotation for the remediation, produce a desktop based report for remediation etc.
Is there a salary range in mind - Typically 20-24k for a Graduate Engineer, but a good knowledge of CAD would be essential for the upper end.

In terms of calculations, these are generally quite basic calculations to look at the load applied to a building and then working out the load path. Most of the calculations are completed on Excel or by hand on the more complex projects we use Tekla Structural Designer, but we wouldn't expect to have a Graduate working on Complex claims just yet.
Structural CAD Technician
How big is this team - The Structural Team currently consists of 9 people. 6 Engineers and 3 technicians, a technician has recently left who we are looking to replace.
What is a typical project - There really is no such thing as a typical project - they can range from a house extension to a 20m school. We work on a variety of buildings such as schools, offices, warehouses, housing estates, one-off houses, hospitals, apartment blocks etc
What does a typical day look like They candidate will be working under the supervision of a structural engineer and possibly a senior technician detailing the projects mentioned above using AutoCAD and Revit. They will be responsible for fully detailing the project they are working on including the substructure, superstructure, external works, below ground drainage, steelwork connections, RC detailing etc. Buildings may be timber frame, concrete framed, steel framed, load bearing masonry etc.
Is there a salary range in mind Salary is subject to experience but in the range of 18-22k. The greater the experience, the higher the salary we would be preferred to offer so this is just a guide.
