My client are a world leading manufacturer of iron castings and plastic moulded products for the sanitaryware sector. They require a Foundry Customer Quality Engineer for their operations.

Day to day duties will include the following:
•To address any customer concerns or issues promptly and co-ordinate solutions via action plans including containment activities and quality alert boards, 8D, problem solving techniques, 5 why, ishikawa (Essential)
•To ensure customer standards are understood and implemented at all stages of the manufacturing process. Ensure that all production and processing is in line with company work instruction (Essential)
•To create and manage work instructions at every stage of manufacturing, ensuring all relevant departments - utilise them and create audit system to monitor progress (Essential)
•Ensure customer returns are reviewed within 24 hours of receipt and booked within the RMA system for credit and returns analysis, pareto items added to application action plans (Essential)
•Work with central quality to ensure all formal procedures line up with actual (Essential)
•Co- ordinate customer complaint tracker and ensure agreed actions are communicated and implemented (Essential)
•Liaise with the technical departments to resolve the customer related concern through CAR and action plans (Essential)
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
•A similar customer focused quality engineer/quality technician expertise although a graduate with an quality assurance/ quality engineering degree will be considered (Essential)
•Knowledge of quality process and experience fo dealing with clients on a daily/regular basis (Essential)
•Some experience and knowledge of 8D, problem solving, 5 Why, Ishikawa (Advantageous)
•Any knowledge or experience of a foundry environment will be advantageous (Advantaeous)
•An analytical approach and strong work ethic (Essential)
•Good IT skills and a team player (Essential)

Day to day duties will include the following:
•Plan design projects from concept to sale (Essential)
•Use your knowledge of CFD simulation for product optimisation to improve both design and performance (Essential)
•Apply innovative problem solving skills (Essential)
•Work with in house specialists to develop products that maintain highest standard (Essential)
•Take an active, hands on role to ensure all engineering problems are resolved thoroughly (Essential)
•Design and build prototypes chosen concepts (Essential)
•Use our established test processes, best engineering practise and discipline to deliver robust solutions in agreed timescales (Essential)
•Understand tolerance analysis and design for manufacturing principles (Essential)
•Maintain all supporting documentation to ensure accurate integration with all other departments within the company (Essential)
•Prepare and deliver design reviews to departmental managers and directors at board level as required (Essential)
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
•At least five years' experience in design engineering (Essential)
•High degree of experience with CFD simulation (Essential)
•Experience of working with flow control, water flow or valve design (Essential)
•Previous experience of mechanical engineering (Essential)
•Excellent knowledge, appreciate and understanding of design for injection moulding (Essential)
𔅗D CAD fluent (Essential)
•Solidworks Product Suite experience (Advantageous)
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Essential)
