Fri 8.00-1.00
A 15 minute paid break is given from 10.15-10.30 each day.


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

- Use CNC programming, setting, operating skills for machining materials to drawing and instruction, meeting the requirements of the department and/or managers and supervisors.
- Read, interpret and understand technical drawing details.
- Plan and organise processes, giving due consideration to efficiency and productivity.
- Set 4-axis CNC Milling Machine Centres and operate accordingly; including jigs, fixtures and tooling.
- Conduct machining processes as required and directed by the line manager and drawing instruction
- Use suitable measuring equipment to establish correct fit and tolerance to drawing, specification and instruction. Completing Quality Control documentation accordingly.
- Clean and maintain equipment, tooling and workshop environment
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and punctually
- Follow Health & Safety procedures (including wearing necessary Person Protective Equipment) to ensure safe working practices for self and for others.

Workforce are currently recruiting for an experienced CAD/CAM Engineer - offering a starting salary of 35,000 - 45,000 DOE - to work for a market leading aerospace company in the Redditch area. You will be accountable for delivering consistent standards within the Design team (CAM) and Toolroom while supporting improvements in existing and introducing new products.
Role and Responsibilities
• Use Siemens NX (Unigraphics) to complete basic CAD operations.

• Proven experience in Forging/ Toolmaking.

Responsibility's
• Writing NC programs and liaising with cutting tool suppliers.
• Implementing customer specific processes including NC programs, fixtures and cutting tools on machining centres.
• Prove-out of NC programs for customer components
• Optimising programs to achieve agreed quality levels and cycle time.
• Running SPC capability studies to achieve machine sign off for pre and final acceptance.
• Training of customers in operation of their machine.
• Create process methods and time estimates.
• Support customer demonstrations and trade fairs.

Experience requirements:

• Ability to write NC programs from customer part drawings.
• NC controls experience essential (Siemens / Fanuc).
• Experience in metal cutting processes and cutting tools.
• Technical knowledge and troubleshooting of machine mechanics and hydraulics.
• Operation of 4 and 5 axis machining centres (Siemens/Fanuc).
• Experience of CAD/CAM/post processors.
• Ability to interpret mechanical component drawings and tolerances.
• Understanding of SPC methods and interpretation of inspection protocols.

General Requirements:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Flexible to work overtime as required.
• Willing to travel for periods of time away from home in UK and abroad.
• Must be a team player, good communicator and self-motivated.
• Good MS office skills.
