Our client is Well Established company based in Redditch, they are looking for a person to join their establishment, the ideal candidate would ideally have an experienced background in Metal work, have the ability to use Micrometers /Vernier calipers and Shadowgraph.
You will need to be able to read and interpret Engineering drawings and develop components, working to deadlines and targets without the need for constant supervision. Ability to carry out a wide range of Manual and Mechanical tasks that are appropriate to the role. Ideally have a keen interest in Engineering and want to progress and develop your career.
A background in the Metal Industry whilst not essential would be advantageous.

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:

A versatile role that requires you to be part of a successful maintenance team, working as the site mechanical specialist, forming part of a cohesive unit that will provide support to all team members. Undertaking all other aspects of the site maintenance as required

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist mechanical knowledge
• To advise the site manager on engineering works and plan as needed
• Undertake planned maintenance; inspections, daily weekly and monthly
• Day to day frontline fault finding and repair work
• To support a 24 hour call out service
• Assist with contractor control and management
• Maintain accurate job and service records
• Service and maintain automated conveyer systems
• Installation of new electrical and non-electrical equipment
• Additional works are required by site manager

Skills:

• Mechanical - (C&G) Part 1 + 2 Mechanical or NVQ level 3 Mechanical City & Guilds or Level 3 Diploma in Engineering- Maintenance, Installation and Commissioning.
• Certification in welding an advantage
• Conveyer systems and robotics would also be an advantage
• Competent in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Demonstrate a good track record of achieving results.
• Experience in planned Preventative Maintenance Systems
• Experience of working with an Ammonia Refrigeration Plant would be an advantage

The Role
The successful candidate will join the local business, and will lead the design of a number of infrastructure schemes as well as liaising with clients and mentoring junior staff in the following disciplines:
• Highway design (S38 / S278) both preliminary and detailed
• Drainage design (S104 / S98) both strategic and detailed
• Design of foul pumping stations, SUDS, flow control structures and balancing facilitates
• Residential and commercial external works design including earthworks assessments
The position will suit:
• A Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE / CEng MCIHT/ CEnv CIWEM etc.)
• A graduate Civil Engineer with a MEng / BEng / BSc who is near Chartered status
• A Civil Engineer with experience in the civil engineering sector
• A Civil & Structural Engineer who is proficient in using AutoCAD
• Experience of using PDS & Microdrainage would be desirable

• Carrying out own inspection
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
• Experience in all these disciplines or cutting tool production is not essential, as training will be available for the right candidate.
• Experience in a similar capacity within an engineering workshop / Toolroom environment is DESIRABLE.
• Candidates must have a methodical approach, be able to interpret engineering drawings
