We are currently recruiting for a Metrologist on behalf of a well-established manufacturer based in Worcestershire. The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm and genuine interest in metrology, data analysis and quality systems.
Day to day duties will include the following:
•To complete component measurements in-line with drawing and customer requirements in adherence to ISO measurement standards.
•To implement and manage a calibration system in adherence with the relevant ISO standards.
•Writing and editing CMM programmes for a Mitutoyo Euro C 544 MCOSMOS-2 Version 4.0 R1 along with CAT1000P. Exporting CMM data to Minitab, and other analytical software.
•Lead and manage development of a site-based metrology centre of excellence, providing justification for metrology equipment.
•Supporting production cells with any specific measurements requirements including, capability analysis on 'first off' products.
•To use Quality Data Management (QDM) and the site's Measurlink (SPC) software to analyse and understand quality trends to support continuous improvement.
•To develop teams in the use of metrology equipment.
•Responsible for completing variable and attribute MSA studies.
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
•Excellent understanding of geometric tolerances and reading engineering drawings. (Essential)
•Experience of operating metrology equipment and manual gauges. (Essential)
•Proficient in Shadowgraphs, Keyence and other vision systems. (Advantageous)
•Experience utilising quality tools and Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques including, but not limited to; SPC, Capability studies, DoE, 8D. (Advantageous)
•Experienced with ISO measurement standards and practices. (Essential)
•Having experience in a volume manufacturing environment. (Essential)
•Minimum of 3 years' experience in a metrology role. (Essential)
•HNC or HND with a bias towards quality. (Advantageous)
•Six Sigma Green Belt. (Advantageous)
•Good effective communicator at all levels - written and verbal. (Essential)
•Proficient in Microsoft Office. (Essential)
•CMM experience - Mitutoyo CMM. (Essential)
