Workforce are currently on the look out for an experienced Production Supervisor to work for a well established client in the Walsall area.
Full time position - 39 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm (30 minute un-paid break)
Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm (no lunch break)
25 days annual holiday (plus Bank Holidays)
Salary: circa 25k per annum
Reporting to the Production Manager

The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning and controlling the manufacturing process within designated department(s). Responsible for culture setting, strategic planning, balancing capacity to demand, monitoring and scheduling of staff and work operations in the department in a safe, quality oriented, and efficient manner. Also responsible for employment decisions, reviews, back to work interviews, absence and performance monitoring and overall development of department associates.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Evaluate the manufacturing process and give direction as needed. Ensure processes follow Safe, Quality, Manufacturing Practices and Procedures.
2.Review product specifications and process. Inspect product to verify conformance to specifications.
3.Study production schedules with the Projects / Production Teams and estimate employee hour requirements. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
4.Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
5.Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of production department and operatives.
6.Evaluate needs and requirements for new products or processes.
7.Support departmental support staff to achieve agreed objectives.
8.Maintain time and production records and to ensure Kiosk is being used by all associates.
9.Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve goals.
10.Interpret and enforce company policies, safety regulations and quality methods to the operatives.
11.Analyse and or assist in resolving work related issues / problems and complaints etc.
12.Keep a tidy / safe working environment at all times

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

6.Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
7.Proficiency in Microsoft Office
8.Experience with lean methodologies.
9.Experience within a manufacturing environment.
10.Experience of working to tight deadlines.
11.Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and tube bend manipulation
12.Able to read and understand engineering drawings, material and parts specifications.
13.Be customer focused.
14.Have a good understanding of production procedures and planning constraints.
15.Ideally have experience using MIEtrak.

• Production of detailed quotations for air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical works, to include site surveys, Designer Risk Assessments, heat load calculations and equipment selection for retail, leisure, commercial and domestic projects
• Working on projects valued 5K-500K throughout the UK.
• Must be computer literate, self-motivated, personable, able to work independently and as part of a team, and liaise effectively at all levels.
• Relevant air conditioning experience essential.
• Prepared to react quickly and effectively in various situations.
• Work as a key member of the Design team, taking a proactive role.
• Site surveys to be undertaken as and when required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Use of AutoCAD.
• Previous experience within the air conditioning industry and relevant legislation knowledge is essential, with knowledge of major suppliers/equipment within the market.
• ONC/HNC qualification in Building Services (Air Conditioning) Preferred

PRESS TOOL MAKER (NIGHT SHIFT)

Due to an ever-growing order book, we currently have a vacancy for an experienced skilled Contract toolroom toolmaker to join our highly skilled team. We work closely with our customers in supporting their day to day operations and often respond to customers' needs at very short notice.
Key Tasks

Responsible for the on time & accurate delivery of tools to meet Tooling Programmes
safely and efficiently carry out preparation and assembly of new press tools up to 20 Tons in weight.

Identify and repair/refurbish tools to a high-quality standard.
Ability to interpret requirements & communicate with the management team
Ability to perform tasks within a team, manage hours
Develop and maintain outstanding customer satisfaction
Responsible for the on time & accurate management of tools:
exceed our customer expectations of quality Liaison and working closely with other departments, to deliver tools on time delivery

Liaise/attend meetings with all departments, customers and suppliers as required
Any other ad-hoc duties as requiredEssential Requirements
Hard-working time served Toolmaker in a high-pressure environment.
Worked within a contract toolroom
Experience of press tooling manufacturing.
Work independently on press tools from initial design review to planning and tool buy off at customers premises.
Ability to work to instruction and integrate into a successful engineering team
Good verbal communication skills
Problem solving
Flexibility to work overtime at short notice when required.
Self-time manage which includes completing time sheets accurately on a daily basis.Desirable Requirements
To keep all work areas clean and tidy to ensure correct presentation and safety of employees.
Required experience:

Contract Press Tool Manufacturing Experience.
