Workforce are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter - offering a starting salary circa 24,600 DOE, a 38 hour working week, 33 days holiday, paid sick scheme, free life assurance and stakeholder, 10 hour shifts between 08:00 - 18:00 - to work for our client in the West Bromwich area. You will be joining one of the UK's largest manufacturers of speciality organic chemicals. The successful candidate will be an experienced, qualified Mechanical Fitter.
Role and Responsibilities
• Mechanical preventative and reactive maintenance work.
• Mechanical plant installation and modification work.
• Statutory inspections - pressure testing, plant integrity and commissioning work.
• The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals and other technical information to assist with all works.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with a range of departments to ensure that daily goals are achieved.
General
• The use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
• Work in accordance with the company safe systems of work and permit to work systems.IT literacy and commercial awareness are desirable skills.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• You will need to have a recognised mechanical apprenticeship and educated to ONC or City and Guilds level 3 (RQF level 3) in Mechanical Fitting/Engineering as a minimum.
• Ideally you would also have training with MEWP's, Abrasive wheels, Welding equipment and Confined Spaces.

Workforce are recruiting for an experienced Shift Plant Manager - offering a starting salary circa 30,000 DOE, a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, 10 hour shifts between 08:00 - 18:00 - to work for our client in the West Bromwich area. You will be joining one of the UK's largest manufacturers of speciality organic chemicals. The successful candidate will ideally have a degree in Chemistry or Engineering, with some experience of line management in fine or pharmaceutical or polymer chemical manufacture.
Role and Responsibilities
• Ensure production and quality targets are met in a safe manner and take actions to ensure that the processes operate to budget.
• Be actively involved in maintaining plant operating efficiency, safety and environmental standards.
• Be responsible for effective staff allocation, training and discipline.
• An understanding of essential engineering requirements of a chemical plant is desirable
• Knowledge of quality and environmental management systems, manufacturing equipment control systems and COSHH in a chemical manufacturing environment.
General
• Excellent planning, communication and people skills.
• You will have a practical approach to problem solving and a good eye for detail, with the ability to work under pressure.
• IT literacy and commercial awareness are desirable skills.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Microsoft Office software
• Appropriate education for the task such as Degree etc. - Mechanical or Chemical engineering.

Due to rapid growth we are looking for an Engineering Shop floor Supervisor, to help manage the shop floor and coordinate duties. The candidate needs to be self-motivated and be ready to take on a challenge as a lot of are jobs are one offs which makes the job so varied and rewarding.
Being a family run business, we try to get away from the factory feeling of a work shop. We are more like a team. All the work is special one off's and no batch work

Day to day duties will include the following:
• Supervising and Organising duties, liaising with customers and shop floor Engineers
• Understanding Engineering Drawings ESSENTIAL
• Experience of conventional machining and Engineering an ADVANTAGE
• Good Toolroom background an ADVANTAGE
• Experience in dealing with customers and Sales ESSENTIAL
• Preferably apprentice trained

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience
• Engineering Manufacturing background PREFFERRED
• Experience of supervising or Team leading in Engineering environment an ADVANTAGE
• Good communication skills ESSENTIAL
