Workforce are recruiting for an experienced welder fabricator for our client in Birmingham. This is a great opportunity to work for an established fabrication company with long term work available. This is a long term temporary position, but permanent roles can become available to the right candidate.
It is important to have practical welding experience with mild steel and an advantage to have worked with posts, beams, frames and other aspects of structural or architectural metalwork.
About the Candidate
Experience in MIG Welding
Be competent in basic Metal cutting / shaping as per work order, amongst other fabrications
Be able to set up and operate welding equipment independently
Able to read and work from Engineering Drawings
Set up and operate machinery associated with fabrication/welding.
A good understanding of health & safety procedures in a workshop environment.
Willing to work overtime when required.

Candidates are expected to perform a weld test as part of the application process.

You will be carrying out a varied role in the stores, operating forklifts, driving steel products to clients and picking and preparing stock for distribution.
Role and Responsibilities:
•For insurance purposes, you must be over 21 years old and have held a Class B Driving licence for over 2 years.
•Experienced in working to order sheets picking and packing of steel products
•Counterbalance and Reach forklift truck licences required.
•Experience driving long wheel base vans is advantageous.
•Health and Safety training or experience is advantageous.
•IT skills for stock control and stock allocation

This is a permanent position. It is important to have experience leading teams and ability to work on heavy gauge fabrications including Structural Steel.
Roles and Responsibilities:
•Prior experience leading small teams of fabrication and welding staff is essential.
•Ability to plan and coordinate projects from inception to final delivery.
•To identify and manage any issues with work schedules, not limited to but including quality control, production defects and material supply issues.

•Must have experience programming CNC Victor Lathes with Fanuc language controls.
•Experience with Victor model and Doosan Lathes with Fanuc controls is beneficial.

They are currently looking to recruit for a Capstan Setter/ Operator, As the Setter/Operator you will be responsible for setting and operating Capstan lathes using Fanuc controls.

Day to day duties will include the following:
•Must have experience operating and setting Capstan Lathes.
•Experience in the production of bespoke and low batch fasteners would be advantageous.
•Must be able to work from technical drawings.
•Be able to conduct first off quality inspection
•Be able to ensure that batches are produced at a consistent quality for the duration of the run.

FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
_At least 3 years' experience Capstan Setting and Operating - Essential
_Setting and operating using Fanuc controls - Essential
