Job title:CNC Setter Operator Sliding Head

Salary: 25,000 - 30,000
Hours: 40 Hours

This well-established client is looking for a 2-Axis Lathe Programmer / Setter - to work for a leading fastener manufacturer in the Wolverhampton area.

With plenty of overtime available.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Must have experience setting and part-programming 2 axis lathes Fanuc language controls as a minimum.
• Experience with Star, Citizen and/or Doosan machinery is ESSENTIAL
• Experience working with all grades of material, carbon steel to your super alloys Inconel 718.
• Experience in the production of one-off to 5k batches of fasteners is ADVANTAGEOUS
• Must be able to programme machines based from customer drawing/specifications.
• Be willing to set machines in addition to writing the programmes and be able to run off the batches at a consistent quality.
• Be able to conduct first off quality inspection where appropriate.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate the machines.
• Constantly oversee machine operation and make adjustments in process.
• Conserve the production of material at all times.
• Position materials into the feeding rack using a hydraulic hoist.
• Ensure correct size of material is used.
• Record necessary production information and paperwork.
• Report any issues with the machines and submit maintenance orders for needed repairs.
• Maintain and clean machines and surrounding environment regularly.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Well established and growing engineering company in Wolverhampton is looking for a CNC Setter Operator to join their team.

Day to day duties will include the following:

• Will be using a variety of CNC machines, lathes and etching machines (or willing to train) to produce high quality parts
• Consistently produce high quality parts, dimensionally and cosmetically, liaising with the Quality Inspectors at all times
• Using measurement equipment
• Maintaining clear and accurate production documentation and data
• Will be expected to work at a fast pace

Job Skills:

• Good understanding of technical drawings
• Understanding of various CNC Control Systems (mainly FANUC)
• Good level of physical fitness as role requires long periods of standing, lifting, bending etc.
• An eye for detail
• Must have a positive way of thinking, be willing to train and help push the business forward

The successful candidate must have the following experience to be considered for this role.

* MIG welding
* Working with Mild Steel, varying thickness
* Production welding to targets
* Experience operating an overhead crane would be beneficial
* It is vital to have your own overalls and safety boots

The shift pattern for this role is working double days, both mornings and afternoons, 5:45am - 2:00pm (12.00 noon finish on Fridays) and the following week 2:15pm - 10:30pm (12:00pm - 6:00pm on Fridays) rotating weekly.
The successful candidates will be expected to hit an achievable production target, you can earn up to 15.00 per hour for hitting the maximum.
