A position has become available for an experienced workshop machine fitter to carry out modifications to electric motors.
Day to Day duties will include the following:
Modifications to electric motors, including mechanical fitting of flanges and fitting of small electrical components inside electric motors (Essential)
Use of cranes and compressed air tools for movement and fitting of components (Essential)
Updating completed modifications on excel (Essential)
Replaing electric motors using programmable software and stamping machines (Essential)

Our client based in Worcester are looking for a Jig and Fixture maker to join their team
The Role

The Jig and Fixture Maker will be responsible for the manufacture of all types of tooling used in the manufacture of the Companys products Working as part of a small team within a larger factory setting you will work closely with the Tool Room Supervisor to assure all tooling requirements are met in a reasonable time and to a high standard The Jig and Fixture Maker will report to the NPI Director via the Tool Room Supervisor

Minimum Skills and Abilities

* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

* Good logical work planning for the manufacture of the tooling to maximise the efficient utilisation of the companys tool room equipment and materials

* To efficiently competently and safely operate conventional Tool room equipment such as Universal Milling machine Centre Lathe and Hand Tools

* Competent and accurate use of measuring equipment internal external micrometres vernier callipers depth gauges height gauges comparators slip gauges etc

* The ability to Mig Weld would be an advantage but training can be given on this process

* A person who takes pride in the quality of his workmanship

* Customers ask for rapid turnaround of parts so there is often the opportunity for overtime

* Able to work reasonable amounts of overtime sometimes at short notice as required by the Company

The Person

The ideal person for this role will be a time served or apprentice trained manual machinist with good communication skills and a can do attitude They will take pride in their work and be versatile

Health and Safety

The Jig and Fixture Maker will carry out their daily tasks in a way that is mindful of their safety and the safety of other company employees
In the event of the jobholder seeing someone acting in a manner that they consider unsafe they will report this immediately to the Tool Room Supervisor and or NPI Director
